One thing I just realized and wrote on twitter is the fact that Arizona is going into this relationship with her eyes wide open. And that's important for her character. In the sneak Callie talks about how Arizona has manifested this perfect rebound when in reality it's the exact opposite.

Seeing Arizona willingly be there for Herman and hold her hand? Damn. This is going to hurt so badly for her if it goes south. But I am proud of her for willingly stepping up and into this relationship not just for the work but for the person.

You go girl.

Does Callie know that Herman has a terminal disease and is likely to die if Amelia's Hail Mary approach doesn't work? Has Amelia ever revealed the tumor belongs to Herman in her past (and upcoming) lectures to the residents? Stephanie knew, but did the others know? Did the board ever discuss letting Herman continue to operate in her condition? Should I stop asking questions because many things in Grey's aren't supposed to make sense, lol?

You go girl. +1000. I'm already anticipating the devastation for Arizona (and frankly, myself as a viewer) if/when Herman dies. But somehow, I feel like Arizona is stronger now and will be able to deal and process this loss better than ( ... )

It feels clear that Callie and Arizona have avoided all but the most superficial of interactions since their break-up. I definitely don't think Callie knows that Herman has a brain tumor. She's likely to find out next week. It'll be interesting to see her reaction after this scene. I can't imagine Callie's heart not peaking out for a moment or two.

Jessica has said that Alex comes through for her in a big way. I wonder what that is going to look like. It feels like Alex may end up picking "Team Arizona."

I can imagine a cafeteria scene where Arizona is sitting alone post Herman and Alex picks his tray up and moves it to her table. Could Callie find herself suddenly the odd one out? What might that do to her? It's not something she's ever experienced. (But of course, Arizona would have some compassion and offer to let her join them.)

I would love to see that. A bit like the car accident in S7 where he was the only one to check on her.

Could Callie find herself suddenly the odd one out? What might that do to her? It's not something she's ever experienced. She has experienced that before, back in S8 when Arizona and Mark found their shared passion for cooking, and Callie suddenly became the third wheel. After years of Arizona telling Callie how uncomfortable and upset she was at having Mark in their bed and life, and Callie dismissing it as Arizona's jealousy or Arizona not trying hard enough to be Mark's friend, Callie finally kicked Mark out of her apartment. Because this time, she was the odd one out. Sorry, I never liked that scene in S8 because I felt the reason for Callie doing it was selfish ( ... )

Is Callie so far removed from Arizona (other than seeing her "rebound") that she doesn't know about Herman's tumor? After Callie not lighting a candle last week (OOC for her) I wonder what's coming with Herman's death. Arizona and Callie have no interaction for how many eps? Will they have any interaction when Herman dies (assuming she does die) or will Arizona have to soldier on without any support from anyone? Think about it. Who does Arizona have (especially after her comments tonight)? April is still recovering and has been rightfully caught up in that story, Amelia will probably be devastated that she couldn't save Herman and will end up in Owen's comforting arms. That leaves Arizona with ? Maybe that's why she starts dating - because she has no one else.

I'm pretty sure that if/when Herman dies, Amelia will seek comfort from Owen. But I hope that Arizona and Amelia can also lean on each other because right now, they are the two people closest to Herman. But I know that's not Amelia's story because she's paired with Owen now.

I get ALL the feels from Arizona holding Herman's hand. This is not going to end well for our girl BUT I do think she's stronger and that she'll handle this better BUT what makes it worse for me if Herman does die is that Arizona has no-one. Callie has everyone even Alex - which I just wanted to say annoys me, so much for Alex being Arizona's friend and showing up for her.

Poor Arizona.

If she can do this though without needing someone to hold her up her whole life going forward will be so much more satisfying. It is sad but I'm excited for her because once you've weathered loss alone you have something deep inside you can always tap back into.
