Email GMail...may just be a glitch.........does the company use a Business account e.g. Google Apps? Support should be able to deal with a ticket on it. And they should have backups as well.

If/when it comes back up, download Google Gears and Offline Synchronization for such backups.

Can you tell me more about Offline Sync? Would I need space to save all the messages?

When I say my "work account," I mean the account I've set up for work purposes. It's not what I use at HMX.

Download Google Gears

Click on "Labs" in your GMail Settings and look at at Offline email.

It needs to do an initial synch but it seems to work well.

You need to do this at every computer you access email - e.g. work and home. I actually use PortableApps.com Firefox from inside a TrueCrypt mounted encrypted virtual drive at home and work to protect any offline data - since I download GMail and log my IMs.

First, take a look here:

http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=8256

That page has a few decent suggestions to help you make sure the messages aren't lurking in some dark corner of your account.

If you try all that and can't find them (and they don't magically reappear), you should see a link to file a report at the end of the troubleshooter. If you send in your report and haven't heard back within 48 hours, email me (my LJ username, and it's a Gmail account) and I will walk down and poke somebody in person.

Step 1: Already done, sorry I wasn't clear about that. :)
Step 2: Did last night.

I'll let you know if I need step 3. Thank you.

Hey. Still no news from Google on my accounts, in case you'd still like to know. Whee!
