And the phrase "Citizen Odor Committee" sounds like the citizens are personally emitting the odor.

Rockland ought to try bottling the odor. Chances are they could make some extra money selling it somewhere. :-P

I always thought Thomaston had a worse odor anyway, along Old County Rd. I remember the trees there used to be (still are?) covered in a weird yellow moss / funk. :-P

I was always told that was due to the cement plant (the moss, not sure about the smell).

Hm, that's possible. There's certainly any number of local watchdog groups that'd be quick to claim that, I forget where but somewhere on the web you can find pictures of some odd-colored lake out behind the Dragon plant.

We had a pond on the property at Dana. The day the environmental auditors came out to look at our site they found a raccoon lying dead next to the pond. They left before noon. The report wasn't good.
