Periodically amusing

So, I found these and laughed more than I needed to. I want to make a batch of these! Perhaps once I find someone in town who will appreciate the humor, I will.

Actually, I love this whole tag, especially the Gel Electrophoresis. I really want to go grocery shopping for test batches ( Read more... )

hilarity, nerdery, geeking, cookies, baking, science humor

That...looks like something my mother would love. She's a doctor back home and something like that would have made her day. I'm partial to the binary cupcakes myself, having more of a computer programing/engineering background...

Oh, um, sorry, I think I forgot to introduce myself. Wesley Crusher, and you are?

Oh, your mother sounds like such a lovely woman! Perhaps you can make a batch and send them to her through the post?

Ooh, computer programming, you say? I've done a bit of that myself! I prefer working around biology, but there was a "special project" that required me to learn programming and engineering. It was rather useful for a variety of things! I'm impressed to meet someone here in the field!

Perhaps you could make binary shortbread cookies, like the Gel Electrophoresis. Except the "gel" area could be black, and the binary would be white. It seems like intricate work, though, but I'm sure you're used to that!

Haha, it's very nice to meet you, Mr. Crusher! Most people just call me Dok. :)

Yeah...she is, and I'll consider that, thanks. And I know a bit of biology myself, but it's mostly astro-biology--space stuff.

I love engingeering, I served aboard a ship for a few years learning all sorts of amazing things...I'm really no one to be impressed over, I just enjoying inventing and tinkering with things.

My mom makes great shortbread, maybe I'll ask her to do that the next time I see her.

Oh! Astro-biology is fascinating! I've only listened in on a few seminars on the matter, but from what I recall, it's a remarkable field!

A ship, you say? Like maritime engineering? It must be difficult to conduct any kind of experiments at sea (Oh, Dok..)! Any kind of engineering takes quite a bit of skill, though, so I must disagree with you, my friend -- you are indeed someone to be impressed over! Inventing and tinkering is what brought forth some of the world's most brilliant discoveries!

Ooh, that would be lovely! Shortbread is so delicious, but I've had horrible luck with it recently! Perhaps you could ask her if she has any pointers for me?

Positively charming, I must say. Although science isn't quite my field I can certainly appreciate the creativity--and chocolate ganache is a wonderful filling. It's wonderful to see that there's someone else in town who understand the importance of a well-made pastry.

Ah, it is! You know, before I left home, I was experimenting with pomegranate fudge and a vanilla ganache that utilizes nutmeg so that it can be used for a topping or a filling for fall-oriented desserts.

I feel very much the same way Miss...ter...(???)-- oh, I'm sorry, I just realized that I don't know your name! I'm sorry, my name is Dok ^^ And you are..?

You may call me Count D, I am the humble proprietor of the pet shop on the corner of 12th and Bear Streets.

And I daresay there is a bakery in town that would be quiet interested in your 'experiments' or, if nothing else, you have a willing test subject here. I've been known to be fond of fruit/chocolate combinations.

Aha, Count D...I'm sure you get this all the time, but is there any relation to the man that comes to mind? No offense, I just want to be sure! :)

Oho! A bakery, you say? Well, I'll be more than glad to investigate this! I do need the money, so if I could get hired there it would be great! And like you say, at the very least, I'm more than willing to be a test subject for sweets! That honor always went to that blasted catboy. If I never see another catboy again it will be too soon. ._.

Haha, I'm glad you agree! If I ever get a job around here, perhaps I'll host a theme party and put those on the menu! ^^

It also occurs to me that I haven't seen you around before! What is your name, my dear? :) I'm Dok!

Dairine. And it's just...Dok?

Well, I guess I'm not that surprised. There was a guy around here who just called himself "The Doctor" but he was an alien.

...
are you an alien?

Haha, yes...it's kind of all I can remember ^^; of course, if you'd like to call me something else, you can feel free! :)

Dairine is a very lovely name~! I don't think I've ever heard it before, so it's quite uni--

alien? o___o;; No, I don't think I'm an alien. If I am, it would be news to me!
