There's still 20 minutes before the usual time when I start doing homework after dinner, so thought I'll post something in this decomposing community.

Lous -> Captain Marvelous (GokaiRed)
Joe -> Joe Gibken (GokaiBlue)
(I think you can see a pattern here.)
When Lous recalls his family, not much comes to mind.
His mother worked as a teacher at a kindergarten near his house, back in his hometown at a inter-planetary space port. She devoted more time to her students to him, often reaching home at late hours after ensuring every single child had reached home safely. What he did remember of his mother was her culinary skills. Every so often, she would return home, feeling guilty for not spending more time with her own child, and compensate for it by cooking a delicious meal consisting of all of his favourite dishes, including the ever-so-juicy drumstick that was unmatched anywhere else. He supposed he could attribute his current diet (consisting of almost exclusively meat) to her spoiling him with the best food in the galaxy, or perhaps he was just a carnivore.
His father used to always tell him stories of a legendary artifact that was said to contain the power to warp time and space to anyone's will, and the tales of the guardians who protected its secret from the hands of evil. He used to speak as if it really existed, and often Lous saw him buried in old scripts and century-old books, researching what he called the 'greatest treasure in the universe'. As far as father-son interactions went, they had very few, save for the times he heard those tales of action and adventure he was sure came from some storybook about teamwork, except with a few monsters thrown in. Apart from that, he didn't really remember much about his father.
But there was one incident, one day he would never forget, though the memory may grow fuzzy.
His father had rushed into the house and begun packing a simple backpack with the bare essentials for survival and announced that he had finally found the location of the treasure he had sought for so long. He hastily ran out of the door, barely managing to bid farewell to his own wife and son before boarding a space ship with a crew already assembled. He and his mother stood at the door, watching as the ship prepared to take off for the stars, headed towards wherever his father's coordinates led them. Somehow in Lou's heart, he could tell he would never see his father again, but no tears fell that day. In fact, he did not even feel sorrow, just emptiness.
5 years later, Lous was finally old enough to set off on his own voyage. With a crew handpicked by his mentor and long-time friend, Joe, the young captain left his home planet, determined to find what he seeked. He wasn't sure what exactly it was that they were searching for, but the chest full of Ranger Keys that had suddenly appeared on his doorstep one day convinced him that a road would present itself once they began the journey.
He wasn't searching for his father. He simply wanted to see for his own eyes what drove his father to dedicate his entire life to searching for the 'greatest treasure in the universe'.
