Debate, SMUN, and a huge hole in my life;

I really hope studying and general excellence in academics does not fill that hole in my life, currently shaped in the size of a... I don't know. It is rather alienating and sick that I end up having nothing to do at this point in time and wind up questioning the purpose of my life; why should I wake up tomorrow morning? It was never really over for my batch (w.r.t MIDCs) because it always seemed a bit weird that the nationals came in the middle of the year - but we understand now. Hwa Chong is the only remaining school in the circuit - as far as I know - that sends JC1 students to its debate nationals. We do it because we can win while doing so. Such is our pride, in a purely non-pejorative sense.

Thus it's puzzling that you think it's over ... especially when so many competitions abound. It's only over when you stop debating. And that will come when NUSCS does. And maybe not even then. MIDCs is merely a big competition that has lodged itself in the middle of the Hwa Chong debating experience.
