Okay, I liked 'The Da Vinci Code', but seriously, did it not get just a wee bit tedious with the main character stopping to give a history lecture at every turn? ;)
You might be interested in Bart Ehrman's book about the 'truth and fiction" behind the Da Vinci code. I really like Ehrman's books because he is just a biblical historian and not a theologist (he's an agnostic). All of the books I have read by him I've enjoyed and found very fascinating.
I keep meaning to pick up 'Angels & Demons" but it has a hold list a mile long at the library now.
It might have, had I not been so completely en-crushed by the protagonist. ;)
I certainly got annoyed with the constant "which in this case means" in the A Series of Unfortunate Events series. Of course, I read them all back-to-back in the space of a couple of weeks, which I don't think one is meant to do. I do like the idea of introducing new vocab, but it got irritating after awhile.
My library has that Ehrman book, so maybe I will pick it up and have it look wistfully at me from a spot in my bedroom and then return it when the due date comes without having touched it and try to give it a read. *sigh*

So many books, so little attention span time.
