There is a deleted scene where Jake says he will never have another boyfriend like Rickey. My understanding is they cut it and the idea of a kiss because of concern over public response. Not sure how valid the last part is but I do have the deleted scene and can upload it for you if you'd like.

*pets Jake* That has to be really difficult to make the transition and to see Rickey in Mickey.

Thanks, I do know about that deleted scene. I heard it was deleted partially because of public backlash at the idea that Mickey could be gay if his alternate dimension counterpart was, AND the fact that it was a really bad line and rather... made fun of the situation, and made Mickey sound homophobic when he's not meant to be, he was just surprised. The whole 'replacing' him bit. Also heard that they wanted it left more open to the fact that maybe Mickey could end up with him, but that line made it sound like he never would. So... probably a good thing they only left it to subtext, (though apparently it's not like they 'erased' the fact that Jake and Ricky were a couple, they just didn't tell about it) but I'd have loved to have had it revealed, for personal sake...

:) Glad you like it though. And, yeah, I think that's a painfully hard transition.

That sounds about right to me. The subtext with Rickey and, in my opinion, Mickey is very strong throughout the times we see them interacting with Jake.

Have you seen the Dr Who version of weakest Link?

yep, I think it's HUGELY strong, and the whole time watching it for the first time, I was thinking 'yikes. Chemistry much???' and then I found out that they WERE actually written as a couple, and it all made so much more sense. There were all the undertones still there. Like, when there's the cyberman that turns out to have been sleeping, but Jake sorta shoves Mickey behind him to protect him because he didn't have a gun. Instinct due to his looks. And how he grabbed him so aggressively/worriedly to shove him into the van. That's not really how a friend acts. And the whole jumping up and down and hugging each other when they got stuff to work... (again, Jake seemed... like it was instinct, and Mickey was just all excited so joined in) and the whole "you're NOTHING, you are! ... ...nothing... " thing... Gosh that almost broke my heart...

Yeah, I've seen that. :)
