Collaboration? Really? ^_^

I was just sent a PM from an author that I read to do a writing collaboration with her on this certain pairing from Avatar: the Last Airbender. I was just wondering how many of you have done collaborations before? This would be the first time for me, so I thought I would ask. Also, what is your preferred way of writing it together?

I've collabbed before several times. Sometimes via IM, dialogue basic action & I've taken that script & fleshed it out into a fic. Imed where we each wrote the action dialogue of the character we were "playing" & then edited to make it read seamlessly, & I've also collabbed where I wrote until I was tired & then passed it off. That last one worked well when i was collabbing with 2 other people. We also threw ideas around on IM while we were writing and I generally go over things & edit so it reads like one person is writing.

The best thing I would do is ask the person you're collabbing with how they want to do it. :D

Aww, thank you! *Glomps* I'm sorry I haven't been around lately. It seemed as if everything suddenly became busy again. *Sighs*

Anyway, thank you for the advice! That would be an awesome way to do this but also, I think we still need to discuss more about it too, and what type of story we'd be doing since we only know the pairing we like. *Snorts*

That's an awesome way to collab though! I'm glad you told me that, I feel less nervous about it now.

I hate it when I find someone who co-wrote something and you can tell which person wrote each sentence. *Sighs* I think that would be something I would do, since if I start feeling uninspired to continue it, I can just pass it along without worries. Yeah... It shoudl be seamless, pick a tense & stick to it. nothing screams collabbing louder than one paragraph in past tense & the other in present. It's actually jarring to read. XD thankfully it's easy to fix. ;p

COLLABORATION IS SOOOOOOOO FUN!!!!!

Me and Ravyn have done some colab work and it's a blast writing something together. I enjoy kinda being in her brain and watching her though processes as the story spills out onto the screen. I say go for it! Me and Ravyn usually write ours through yahoo messenger and then she will usually edit it because my 'Sesshomaru speak' isn't great yet.

It seems like a lot of fun, but the problem is, I am not as familiar with the pairing as she is, since I just started out in that fandom. I thin it would work well. I love being in other people's brains, and seeing what they think before we become fully function and trying to create something together. My brother and I brainstorm together, so it probably will be something very similar to that, hopefully.
