Did you watch the version where the redid the special effects?

The special effects seemed pretty bad.. a spiral pattern on the screen was the time travel effect, and people hit by beam weapons would just fade out. I assume this was the original.

Yes, definitely. The DVD included a version with some CGI added on to make it look a bit better.

I'm going to have to watch that. This was one of the few novelizations that they sold in the US in the 80s. So i read this story then. But never seen it.

Watching Death to the Daleks now as I work my way through Sarah Jane's first series. That story is not very good.
