It's becoming clear to me that I have really lost the impetus for writing here, but that I still enjoy reading LJ ( Read more... )

acquaintances, writer's block, reminiscing

let me know if they want me to let them know if and when I do this

Yes, please!

Everyone seems to have such different reasons for using LJ. I only know a couple of LJ people in real life (one was a friend before LJ, and one I met through LJ), so I use mine in much the same way as you.

I enjoy reading you, but I'm conscious that I don't comment very often

I always read you, but don't comment as often as I might. Your life is very differetn from mine, which makes it interesting to read about, but difficult to make a response

Thank you! Perhaps we'll meet at Kentwell some time

It's dawned on me that one of the reasons I hesitate about the great adventure of return to Kentwell is that I could so easily miss any and everyone I know by coming in the wrong week - especially as I know people sometimes by their real name and sometimes by their role name, so difficult to enquire for them

Did you manage to visit Kentwell? It was a really lovely event this year (apart from a damp final Sunday...
I can't remember what part of Wales you live in, but if you're anywhere near Tretower (near Crickhowell), then do come to Tretower Court this weekend. There's a Tudor event and everal Kentwellies will be taking part

No, I didn't - I'm thinking about next year, and combining it with a visit to Colchester. I suppose the b abd bs are all very full at Kentwell time?

Don't delete. That's so final. Leave it up even if you're not using it any more.

And, yes, please let me know if you're starting up under another name.

Like you I see LJ as a way of contacting "strangers". The only FL people I know in real life are my three kids and a couple of people who have journals they never use.

That's a good idea - but can one start a new journal if one leaves the old one up?

Of course one can. I've got two. I think one can have as many as one wants.

I know I don't comment very often - and I don't write often either, but I do enjoy reading! Please do let me know if you change journals.
