This reminds me a bit of one of the subplots of Le Nozze di Figaro: an older female character whose name I can no longer remember has some prior marriage claim on someone--Figaro himself, I think--but it's all resolved happily by the revelation that she's really his mother, and so no, they can't possibly marry. :)
Hehe... nicely done Richard. It's left me envisioning various plots -- Sam and Alistair learn they are half-brothers; Wolfram is actually an evil communist Al Quaeda spy who's been suppressing his thick Russian Arabic generic villainous foreign accent all these years that he's been undercover attempting to infiltrate the last vestige of America's liberal media; Stormy comes back to town to get a sex change operation and impresses Ferris so much he decides to get one too; Kevin runs off to join the circus (coincidentally right when his contract comes up for renewal), but the next year he comes back (played by a different dog who looks nothing like the original Kevin, although mysteriously none of his colleagues openly notice the difference). Tune in next week...
Ahhh... Great execution of those banalities that made soap operas so unwatchable. I’m surprised neither you nor 3CatsJackson mentioned anything about character lookalikes...
