Spoilers... kind of

Oct 24, 2009 21:53

Richard/Kahlan is pretty much one of my favorite ships from any of the fandoms that I follow. So I was kind of (well, not really - more like extremely) upset when I found out that....

Spoiler alert for the book series! Don't click this is you don't want to be spoiled! )

They don't have kids in the books, that doesn't mean they don't have them after. From Kahlan's miscarried to the last book they don't have that much oportunities for Kahlan to get pregnant, but they have a lot of amazing scenes together. (although i did find The Pillars of Creation and Naked Empire kind of boring)
The story line changes a lot in the three last books and you don't need to worry, even without Kahlan pregnant you're going to enjoy those books a lot. =D
Are you liking them so far?

Oh, okay! At least that makes up a bit for that. :)
And yeah, I spoiled myself and read about the plots of the last three books on Wikipedia. It sounds interesting, but I'm really not too fond of the Sisters of the Dark.
The books are amazing so far! I started reading them after the first season was already halfway through so I picture Richard as Craig Horner, which helps a lot. ;) I love how Terry Goodkind always has something up his sleeve that I really didn't expect.

I read them all this Summer, it was a month and a half of nothing but Sword of Truth and i made it! I read some spoilers too (accidentaly) but i misunderstood that Kahlan would die so i was terrified, waiting for her to die in any chapter!!
Yeah, the Sisters of the Dark can really make a lot of damage, but you have Nicci to make up for it, she's awesome, i love her! xD
I never really imagin Book-Richard as Craig Horner. In the books he seams bigger and Epicer (if that makes sense)

Haha I meant to do that, but I was busy reading other books. It didn't really help that the beginnings of the books are hard to get through for me, so I'd only read 5 pages a week and get bored with it. =/
Does Nicci do something good, or do you like her just because?
I imagine him in looks, not personality, I mean. Richard Cypher is one of the epicest character ever, in my opinion. <3 I wish I could marry him!

yeah i've read the whole series and i was so dissapointed that they didn't have children because they'd both make such amazing parents, but things just don't always turn out the way we wish.

Eugh... I don't even know where to begin on this comment. I just hope it all makes sense by the time I am finished. At the moment, I too am having a love/hate relationship with the books. Wizards rule was awesome, but then book 2 came along. It lacked the constant adventure that the first one had. In fact, it was pretty dull (with Kahlan's army and the battle an exception) until the last 200 pages where suddenly everything happened. I felt book 3 was pretty much along the same lines, although it went faster. And now I am sitting on Chapter 3 or 4 of book 4. I love the world and the characters. I love that Kahlan is neither the 'damsel in distress' nor an indestructable force. I like that there is balance. Yes, she has a great power, but she can only use it once. It adds dimension to the story and new worries along the way. Richard is truly a magnificent hero. (In fact, I have a minor dislike for the tv series because they constantly have Richard looking lost or a bit ... dim. Here's holding thumbs that he gets over that ( ... )
