The Times Literary Supplement calls Perdurabo: The Life of Aleister Crowley "monumental" and says that "as an accumulation of largely reliable data it is the major biography to date." So writes reviewer Phil Baker, author of Austin Osman Spare: The Life and Legend of London’s Lost Artist.

I agree, it was very exciting to hear I was in the TLS. Turns out I was also in the Daily Express the following day, having been interviewed about a conspiracy theory book that involves A.C.

It was a really well researched book, I learned more than I ever expected. I really have had to reevaluate my ideas about AC. Plus it was paced like only a good historian can. It was fun too. Plus I had stuff to disagree with! That only happens with good books because otherwise I don't care enough. And then it was tragic. And now I am confused about things I thought I knew.
