After thinking about Mr. Supertramp, and his idealistic journey, I was reminded of a NY Times article I read about a logger who can't give up methamphetamine, on the show Intervention, which I have yet to see. This is truly the voice of the vast hidey-holes.

Nice dream. I especially like the chain-gun musket and the pervading sense of impending extinction. When I was a child I used to have brightly colored, exciting night mares. They were terrifying, often gory, but I always had great fun in them.

Yeah, this was fun, constantly exchanging weapons, untill settling on the musket, dagger, and pistols. There were literally hundreds of choices, and a knowledge that the country I was in was enormous, somehow connecting with South America while skipping the North, as if the Inside Passage bypassed it and Mexico entirely. Though that was no option for an escape.
