The cakes I sent for my godmother finally arrived today - two days late, despite having paid for guaranteed next day delivery before 1pm. Royal Mail claim they attempted to deliver it by this time, although they didn't leave a card, and there was someone in the house all day. Hrmph. Oh well, she seems to be very happy with them, and she ended up

Royal Mail probably owe you some kind of compensationy thing? It doesn't sound like they can prove that they tried to deliver, your argument seems to hold much more weight! Still, all's well that ends well I suppose, your aunt looks very happy with her yummy looking cakes :)

Thanks! :D I'm hoping you're right; I'm getting my Mum on the case haha! There was someone in all day and there was no card left, but I'm not sure how I'm going to prove that there wasn't a card when they're going to say that there was... hrm! She was so happy that I'd thought of her though, bless her, it was worth it :D x
