Oh my god, that's amazing! Was it difficult? I would love to start knitting but haven't the faintest idea where to start and can easily imagine all of my attempts going horribly wrong, haha.
Thank you! I'm very proud of myself, I never thought I'd be able to make something like this :) It's really cool, I picked up a couple of new things that I didn't know how to do before. I started off making a scarf in the most basic knit stitch, then one involving knit and purl stitches, then I learned how to knit in the round and made wrist warmers (well, they're only half done), then I progressed to this. Are you seriously looking to start? You should get a Ravelry account! Let me know if you want any help and I'll see what I can do :)
I think my mum knows how to knit but I've never really asked as I've never been that bothered before. However, recently I keep seeing everyone's fabulous knitting creations and I would really love to try it. I can't say that I'll actually have the time to do it very much seeing as I'm busy with university, but I'm sure there'll be some spare time available at some point where I'll be bored and want to do something other than faffing about on the Internet. :)

I'm not keen on the colour (although the fact you referenced turtles is sort of winning me round) but the hat is awesome - also anything that can be measured in Project Runway episodes wins extra points too! :D
