Awesome. Sorry, I know this is a pretty personal question, but did you have problems with it before?
Since becoming very good friends with a pretty awful alcoholic I just can't drink any more. I find it almost impossible to not view alcohol as deeply evil.
I don't mind! I wouldn't say I had problems in the typical sense (I wasn't addicted), but I used it as a social lubricant to overcome my shyness and feel more confident, and I felt like I wouldn't have a good night without getting at least a little bit tipsy. Getting drunk just wasn't really me; I wasted a lot of money on it, my grades nose dived in my first year of Uni (spot the correlation), I turned up to lectures still drunk from the night before (if I even made it in) ... all of these seem to be "typical", socially acceptable things to do at University, which I find deeply problematic. Of course, this was all due to me drinking to excess, but I much prefer not consuming something that my body treats as poison :)

I haven't had alcohol for three years either, except for one beer I had at a concert recently, which made me remember why I don't drink alcohol.
I have ginger beer...what's root beer?
