In celebration of a surgery well done (or at least so far as I can tell for the moment) and in defiance of my keepers (who totally didn't keep me away from the internet effectively, since they all went home thinking I'd actually sleep... like that ever happens :-D) have some more fic! Surgery went surprisingly well. I've spent most of the time since then asleep, which is probably what I should be doing. :-D

I'm really hoping that to some degree, no one will have any idea where this story goes until it actually goes there... I'm not trying to fool so much as hoping my idea is original enough that few will see it coming. Fair warning though, while we'll be briefly catching up to where Gibbs is at, he won't actually show up where Tony and Kelly are for a while. I'm glad you're still enjoying the story so far!

Really? The sense of peril and jeopardy is working? Oh yey! I was worried that the lack of bad guys showing in a speedy fashion was diminishing that too much. How long before Tony meets Kelly's real dad? I'm going to have to go with "It's gonna be a while" on that one. Beyond that, I cannot say unless you want larger spoilers.

I don't consider myself a 'spoiler-free-zone', but I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone else, so I shall resign myself to patience... (damn!). As for the peril and jeopardy thing - I think that less is more in this case, sometimes you want a scene where the nasty villain is plotting, wringing hands and stroking his cat, but this time there's a feeling of not knowing when they will strike, but knowing they are still there. Like monsters - they're more scary if you can't see 'em!

I have to keep telling myself not to spoil the story. I'm one of those people that can't buy someone a birthday present months early, because then I can't help but give it to them like a week after I buy it but still months before their actual birthday. I'm horrible at keeping fun secrets. Other people's secrets I can keep, fun ones of my own... totally can't. So I will NOT tell you about the monsters, and what they are or aren't doing. I promise. Mostly. Probably. For now. *runs away so she doesn't keep talking*
