[An armored figure steps into view, holding an old-style spatha in one hand.]

[he rushes in for another attack, this time leading with a shoulder barge, trying to knock Lancer down for a quick downward stab as follow up.]

[He kicked off from the ground, launching himself backwards to avoid the attack and striking back.]

[he grins a bit as Lancer gets past his guard, the lance-head punching against his breastplate and staggering him for a moment as it screams a divot across the ceramite, then sweeps a low cut across Lancer's legs with his spatha.]

Heh. I'm not exactly one to talk to about science. My world leans far more towards magic.

[Lancer shifted his grip on his weapon slightly, rushing in again to strike at Garviel's legs; maybe he could at least knock his opponent off his feet.]

[Garviel is staggered, falling to one knee, but uses a brutal riposte, spiking the Spatha towards Lancer's chest in an impaling thrust, somewhat lessened in force by the wrong-footing, but still a doughty blow.]

[It felt strange to Lancer that he had such trouble evading simple attacks, but he was beginning to get used to it. However, a blade to the chest was not an experience he was looking to repeat.

[He moved his lance to deflect it, instead taking a deep cut across his shoulder. Well, at least it wasn't fatal.]

[Garviel follows up by standing, and kicking out at Lancer with a straight kick, trying to knock him down with one massive, armored boot.]

[WHACK. That worked pretty well, though Lancer recovered and backed off quickly. That might have been a cracked rib or two, hard to tell.]

They are the most common warriors used to enforce the will of this town. Poisonous creatures that wield axes. Little threat to a man clad in battle plate, but you may have difficulty with them without some kind of air-filtration system. I would not see you poisoned.

[He steps in, bringing down a two-handed chop at Lancer that's designed to smash his guard with the Lance down, for some kind of no-doubt brutal follow up.]
