In the morning, 95.1 does not come in so well.
Today, drifting in and out was a haunting acoustic song
A man and a woman singing
Guitar accompaniment
About the passage of time
About that surreal feeling when you realize that memory was from 20 years ago
The consideration of having less future that past
The richness of having the deep memories

that people are taking about it.
I live in south austin, near central market.
it's the best thing to happen to radio, ever, brilliant, close to my taste most of the time,
and playing stuff i've never heard a lot..
no djs (but one day- a few saturdays ago- they streamed an internet station for most of the day)
at first i was annoyed by the comedy routines, but now trying to figure out who they are, have not yet
googled shirley q liquor,
and the baptist preacher, i'm starting to think that's a comedy thing...
I did read somewhere else that discussing stuff like this online is not a good idea since the fcc will google, then shut down, have no idea how true this is
not sure if posting anonymously is cool, guess i could sign up easily enough
thanks,
david

nice to hear of another listener. it is truly a great station. i don't always like what they are playing, which, perversely, is part of the appeal.

some random thoughts:
really like lots of- dylan, neil young, tom petty, warren zevon, louden wainwright, weird al, jazz, old, old blues.
songs i've never heard but love, bill hicks, etc.
could do without so much- opera, electro/dance, rolling stones, borderline racially offensive comedy
but, like you said that's part of the charm...
love thinking of who is broadcasting, from where, why, how- ipod, cds, vinyl?
not so happy that my wall of music isn't getting listened to as much with this station always presenting something special
and i'm sure i've missed a lot of interesting kut stuff...

I wonder about their set up too. I live out on the west side of Oak Hill, so I can't usually pick up the station at home, but otherwise I can usually hear it across most of South Austin. What does that mean in terms of transmitter?
And I've heard them all hours of the day and night, so it has to be automated to some degree, right?
I wonder too, how much the FCC cares about some little station like this?
