This is a completely pointless post other than for squeeing. XD Because a couple folks on my flist have posted a Golden Compass meme for getting your own daemon, and I'm all, what? And yaaaaaaay there's gonna be a movie OMG. I love the "His Dark Materials" series, and the trailer looks gorgeous. The CG's a little interesting but I totally squealed

Ack I need to check out that trailer! I read the series last year as a respite from thesis, it was SO good. I totally agree with you on the last book. I cried. Where are these daemon memes you speak of??

well, if you go to the golden compass website, there's a section on "find your daemon" and you can post a link/embed it in your lj, and people decide if your self-described traits match you, and your daemon eventually settles on a form. on my flist, I know commodoremarie, solarwind and a few others have it listed.
