Moving is not fun. I hate moving and you are right, a transporter would be perfect. :-)

The last time I moved, I had a HUGE throwout, I just put most of my stuff out for the council cleanup it was so old.

Hugs and good luck with the move.

Reading all your posts about moving has really made me grateful for my family, because the few times I have had to move, we have just pushed that shit out in a mass assembly line of cousins. I can't imagine how much work it has been for you! I know you feel a lot of of the time like you don't pull your own around there, but at l;east for the next few weeks, you should let go of that because HOLY SHIT you are doing far beyond right now!

This is terrible, but I am not entirely sure what you have a degree in or what line of work you would WANT to be doing, if you could. Is it something that requires networking to get a job, because from everything I have ever heard, networking is a full time job in and of itself. It would suck to end up washing dishes or something like that. Even getting a desk job like answering phones or being a front desk face somewhere would be better. UGH, this all sounds awful!!

/hugs/

This is the first time paying movers. The first time I moved, from NJ to NY, I rented a UHaul truck and got my girlfriend to help me. Just the two of us. It was HORRIBLE. Then when I moved to her place we did it ourselves again. Her company paid for the move out here to Illinois, and this time around I suggested we rent a truck, but she wasn't having it, LOL ( ... )

I try to do everything around the house so my GF doesn't have to, but sometimes I wouldn't mind if she helped a *little*. You know, I spent a lot of time when I first moved in with my sister feeling guilty that she went to work everyday and did all the cleaning and errand running and I couldn't do anything to help her. I got over it (and occasionally for no random reason, I make her a creative thing or buy her gift or whatever to show my appreciation). But mostly I got over it because I found little ways to help her. So when people ask me what my job is, I like to say, "Answering the phone and cat-taming." Going to physical therapy, handling our social schedule, keeping track of the important dates, answering the phone at home (since J does that all damn day at work) and 'handling' our parents, staying connected with our brothers, keeping track of the extended family, watching James T Kirk every waking moment of the day lest he throw things on the ground or hit someone in the face or just generally live up to his name. That's a ( ... )

I try not to be annoyed at stuff, because she basically supports me and I have to contribute in some way. I'm tired of packing though, that's for sure.

A Saturday night is much better for me. Trying to get in to the city in weeknight traffic is the stuff of nightmares. Saturday is much easier.
