Today was my first real productive day doing some freelance editing work that I may actually get paid for! If I could do this every day it would be something, since I made a little over $100 (actually more like $70 after I take out 30% for taxes the self-employed must pay) but it's something. It feels pretty good to accomplish the thing I actually

Y'know, you could easily do the same thing. Amazon and many other self-pub places (there are a few) pay worldwide. You could pump out a quick fuck story of about 5000 words (which is how many erotic authors on Amazon got started) and be rolling in cash in no time. Unlike me, who has to write slow build-up stuff because I can never write PWPs.

I was doing some casual admin work for a community college, but it's been like five weeks since the last time they called me, so God only knows when I'll get more work. One of my brothers, who farms website domains (whatever that means), has thrown me a bone, and is paying me to write copy for his websites, but it's not much as he's just starting out his business and isn't exactly making a living off it yet.
Other than that, nothing but having to deal with fucking employment agencies driving me nuts - these are fortnightly appointments I have to show up for, otherwise they cut off my dole payments. Not only do I keep getting randomly transferred to different agencies for no reason, most of them don't do jack shit - after six months with this latest one, she randomly asked one day, "By the way, what disability do you have again?" Seriously?! It's your job to help me find work, and you can't even be arsed to remember what's wrong with me?! I was thisclose to straight up smashing her in the face ( ... )

Best of luck with the story. It sounds interesting and hot. Before I read fanfic, I read some original erotica, and it was kind of an interesting experience for me, because it was nothing like published erotica. It was way more explicit and more interesting.

When I think of erotica, I think of "fade to black" stuff with maybe some heavy petting or something, nothing actually happening on screen, probably based on what I think it to be based on porn. In the world of written erotica, "erotica" is categorized as purely sex -- at least by Amazon. So you *need* it in your books.

b) I didn't even know you had an article published at Gawker! How did I miss that? What a cool way to end up getting a job!
c) Ugh, I never want to have to sign up for Google+. It sounds so intimidating.
d) I would read the shit out of a story with that premise. Though 60 days after sale is a long time to wait for a turn around. Boo.
