Was it you who told me that I can join that comm even if I've never fangirled HP? (I do know the HP canon.) I don't remember who told me that, but this post seems like a good opportunity to ask if it's actually true. :D Because the comm seems like SO MUCH FUN and I would love to try, but if I "had to" spend time doing HP things other than graphics, I don't think it would be that much fun to me.

Yeah you definitely can. You need to know the canon to fill out the application, but other than that there the activities are pretty wide-ranging and loads of them are not based on Harry Potter, though I suppose they can all be said to be "inspired by" Harry Potter. For instance there's a debate right now about whether werewolves or vampires are better for Defense Against the Dark Arts, the Healers Association is playing Pandemic, Muggle Cultural Society is singing showtunes, and there's a discussion about censorship. And that's only like a quarter of the activities going on at the moment.

Oh, awesome! I'm more and more convinced that I should try it. :D Are there any rules about how often you need to participate? (I participate A LOT, so that's not an issue in general, but I'll be on a landcomm hiatus for summer holidays, so maybe I'll join HiH after I come back, unless participation rules aren't strict.)

Ha, you have to do one activity every four months. I think that's pretty lax personally.

I’ve been keeping an eye on platform_934 ever since I discovered it a few days ago - Hogwarts is Home sounds like so much fun and I’m really curious to see where I’d be sorted (I’m a Ravenclaw on Pottermore but I seem to be a Ravenpuff… Which is fine, I love badgers as well ( ... )

Great questions, and I'm happy to answer! There are a billion different kinds of activities and they're all very different and participation in any single one is considered an activity. Each activity has its own requirements for participation. For instance, some current activities and their minimum participation requirements are ( ... )
