All the details are just amazing!!!!! This is so sweet, so loving, so RON... and the caldron with "mis ladrillos" (we call them like that around here)!!! BRAVO!!!!!
Reading this scene was so sweet and kind of hilarious, too. I tried to mimic that in the drawing. I am loving that I can say "lego" in multiple languages now :)
Poor Rosie! But omg, she looks so realistic, bawling her eyes out tucked against her Daddy with her skirt twisted up in her hands and her little feet crossed! Your attention to detail is, as usual, utterly astounding!
Ron is perfect. He looks exhausted and his facial expression paired with the party hat is simply genius. I also have unending love for his lanky body and big hands and his FEET! OMG, your illustrations are making me obsessed with Ron's feet!! LOOK at them!!!
I cracked up over and over while doodling this. I just thought the scene was so entirely sweet and hilarious. I tried to make Rosie as devastated as possible (poor girl) to contrast with the would-be-party decorations. Lord, she was fun.
I won't admit to how many times I redrew Ron's face trying to get it right. I'm glad you think I picked a good one :)
His. Feet. I clearly require professional help for my obsession with them. I keep archives of reference art handy when I'm drawing them.
Oh, poor thing! I'm reading the fic and I'm already incredibly sad. This amaaaaazing art is like the cherry of this angsty pie. I love Rose's hair and how alike they look with their lean bodies and big feet. Ron's expression is killing me! Poor baby!!! And the contradiction of the whole "party, birthday hat" thing and their expressions is oh-so-sad! *applause* Magnificent!
*blushes* thank you :) I did love how Shoc interjected this comic undertone in the middle of a genuinely sad situation. I just tried to run with it and contrast the festive party elements against poor, inconsolable Rosie. You're the first commentor to mention her being thin and tall :) I thought she might take after her dad a bit, but have the unruly curly hair from her mother.

His hat and his expression and the clock and the Quaffle and the clock and the books and his feet and the cake and his hands and the cauldron of Lego!

I will not admit to how many times I redrew those feet. They were stubborn and refused to get sexy through multiple revisions :)
