Oh, oh! That was so full of wit and sparkle I don't even know where to start!
Nothing good ever came after that simple utterance. Martin swallowed the thick bean that had planted itself in his throat. How perfect is that? Love it.
Oh God I'm so embarrassed right now don't mind me I'm just going to dig a hole and hide in it until I die and birds pick away at me. Oh Martin. That is so you. *cuddles*
The whole conversation between Martin and Linda was just beyond excellent. You've captured their characterizations amazingly well.
Whichever one grammatically meant he didn't want Douglas tromping around in his subconscious making comfy little nests to settle down into. Whichever one meant that. That was what he wanted. Or didn't want. Blast! Ehe! And yet, and yet.....
And if that meant leaving MJN, so be it. It wouldn't bother Martin in the least... Mm-hm.
His tone was bathing in feigned nonchalance. Bubble-bathing, in fact, with a glass of pinot noir. Hot damn and three snaps in a Z formation! You're good

Wowee! Thanks! I love getting feedback like this -- despite being overwhelmingly flattering, it's fun to see exactly what bits pinged with readers (and how many of them are my own favorite bits, which is extra brilliant)!
I'm glad you liked Martin's bit of cleverness in scoring a date romantic dinner for two free meal. I love when Martin's a complete dolt, but I especially love when he gets to be a bit clever, which happens a bit more often than he maybe gets credit for, since his doltishness is just so monumentally spectacular.
And, yes, Douglas did give in a bit readily... interesting... ;)
Thanks so much for your comments. Hopefully I can write more soon. Will be quite fun to take on Ottery, I think. Lots and lots to play with there. :D
The same thing happened to me! I absolutely had no idea that Douglas/Martin could even be a thing, but then I starting reading the fics and I was like: Huh. Wow. Um. Okay. Yep. I'm sunk. Shipping it. Like there's no tomorrow, in fact.
Anywho... thanks! For reading and commenting and allowing me to possibly lure you into the dark romantically-dimmed side. :)
*squeals with you* Thanks! Lovely, adorable, silly Martin. He's just too... lovable.
I'm glad you enjoyed the end. I wanted him to have this little victory after all the trouble he went through trying to get to Newcastle and score a date. Yay for Martin! :D
