After getting a pair of errands done, Jollyson and I worked on the yard some more.
He finished up the weed whacking and I got some more mowing done.
Jollyson may have gotten a lucky break. He thinks the place he was working at last winter may have him working for them once more. I wish the kid luck. He needs it.

Trust me, his parents and I have about worn out Heaven's patience with our prayers over the kid.

Nope.
He's a nice enough kid and he's smart enough to do well in college but he's so aimless and lacking in ambition that it's practically painful to witness. His parents and I are tore up watching him waste his life this way but he's well over 21 now and when all is said and done, it's his choice.

Is he still living with his Mom and Dad?

Nope. They made him move out and get a small efficiency apartment that's not too far from them.
(I think it's helped make him grow up in a lot of ways. Poverty can be a great motivator.)

It's quite true. Everywhere you go, there's signs advertizing job openings.
Problem is, the people doing the hiring make everyone who applies for a job with them go through round after round of interviews. Jollyson tells me that one job he interviewed for put him through SIX hour-long interviews and he still didn't get a "yes" or "no" from those people.
So, what no one's getting told is that these companies are "cherry picking" and forcing often desperate people to waste huge amounts of time interviewing for jobs that will only be filled if the best of all possible job applicants walks in the door.
People in computer programming have learned the hard way to put automatic copyrights on ALL computer programming samples they are asked to produce during interview testing. The reason why is that companies often attempt to steal their sample work without offering a penny in compensation for the programmer's time and hard work.
