What can I say? It's hard writing Narutofic when long-haired military hippies and dudes in bicornes take turns eating your soul for the better part of a year and change.

Bit on Naruto, Sasuke, and Itachi for fable. PG-13. May be inconsistent with post-break revelations, and alas, more like an overgrown drabble than proper fic. )

ohhh it's always so great to read Naruto fic from you. I've been staring at this Itachi piece I started a few days ago wondering what to do with him since not a lot of people write him and he's a little flat to begin with, so this was especially nice. even though Naruto sucks a lot of the time, it's still like this ratty old security blanket I can't throw out, man.

This comment is, um. Slightly late.

But I'm glad that you liked it. It's been at least three years since I've read any Naruto canon at all, and goddamn, I still love the idea of the Sharignan, and I still love the whole dysfunction of the Uchiha brother setup.

I like that you write Itachi all subtle and snake-in-the-grass-like rather than diverging into random violence, or bloodplay, or whatever people have been writing him as lately. It seems much more in character to have him perfecting how to wound Sasuke with words, regular wounding might just be too easy.

I also like how you compare the two of them. Itachi being able to mold his chakra, but Sasuke not being able to mask his expression. Or Sasuke needing binoculars and Itachi just being able to see everything just fine.

I'm glad you're back for however long. I've missed your writing immensely.

Um. This is slightly late. I am a bad, bad, bad author, but I wanted to drop you a line about how happy this made me the first (and the second, and the eigth, too) because HURRAY! Somebody who likes Itachi, all subtle and crazy in the grass! And somebody who picked up on all the little differences!

So about six months later, thank you. :D

Dude that's fine, don't feel bad. I have to admit Itachi is kind of a crazy mofo, but there is so much material and so many underlying problems to work with (he kinda reminds me of your riddle actually) it masks most of that other stuff.

Anyway I'm just glad you're (hopefully?) back for a bit. :D

I am! The one good thing about Deletegate, I guess, was the way it brought fandom together. In my case, it was less about, you know. Founding comms or fighting back against the man, and more about going back to my old LJ and remembering how much I liked being on there sometimes.

That is way more than you actually wanted to know. If I didn't owe you fic already, I'd offer to write you some -- and just in case you've changed your mind. Do you still want Warfic Ron/Harry w/back alley warfare or guerilla warfare or Riddle between Hogwarts and Voldemort for octavius_x? I'm thrilled with those, but if you want something else, just say the word.

Hi Rhod,

Long time no see! :)

I sent you an email a couple weeks ago, but people have been telling me that their SPAM filters have been eating stuff from my official .edu address, so am trying here. Remember, way back when, when you gave me permission to quote and talk about some of your stories in my article on HP incest fic? That article hasn't come out yet, but it wound up being a chapter in my dissertation, which I'm hoping to publish as a book eventually. Anyway, I wanted to check and make sure that a) it was still okay to quote you, and b) would you prefer me to update your website address? I have the old jteers one listed. As soon as I hear back from everyone, I'll be posting it in my LJ, so you can see what i said about you. *g* (All good things, i promise.)

Also, I'm having some trouble getting ahold of Marvolo -- do you know how I could reach her, or would you mind passing the same request on to her? Thanks!

I am following up on ages, ages, ages month old comments, and if I remember correctly, I think I got back to you at some point on this, but it bears repeating. HURRAY for you doing this, and HURRAY for you being done with the article at long last.

Yes, I am logging into this LJ once every six months, as per court order. XD

Bwah! You did get back to me. :) Also, if you want to see my dissertation (and the article), just let me know, and I'll send it to you. Thanks so much!

I'd love a copy, actually. Is e-mail or pointing me to a DL site more convenient for you?
