I've been using Cover Girl TruBlend foundation for years but just this past weekend I switched to Sephora's powder foundation, and I like it a lot. I love their eye shadows, too, but it probably is time to change it up.
I may try the BM products...does Sephora carry them?
I've always wanted to try Bare Minerals, but like you mentioned, it's costly...I might just stick to Cover Girl for now.
I love Mary Kay (more than Avon on some products), but I've never tried Timewise. I've been using ProActiv for my skin, and I'm usually happy with the results.
One line I want to try is the MAC products, but again, no money! That put aside, make-up can be fun, can't it?
MAC is good, but requires driving too far for me to get, and as you said, expensive. But they have some awesome shades of lipstick, and my sister loves their powder foundation the way I love the BM foundation. :)
The Timewise line is awesome! Hmm, I probably still have some 1oz sample tubes of the Cleanser/moisturizer/day/night solution, if you'd like I can pop them in the mail for you.
I rarely wear "every day makeup". I do it for more interesting effects. I really like the sound of the BM foundation, and may add it to my kit of wonders.
Personally I'm all about Sephoria and some of their main lines (depends on what I'm looking for) I also like MAC, and of course for theatrical I'm a huge fan of Ben Nye - especially their pancake foundations. Light going on, and very smooth looking when finished. (One very nearby sadly...I just try not to go in too often.)
Oh, and I hate most foundation sponges, although they have their uses. I prefer a firmer more open weave sponge, and finger foundation can look great, it just takes practice. Lots of it - it took me months of regular application before I liked it, and if you don't wash your face right before application, you get less of the pore clogging nastiness.
Ah, how I miss the excuse to dress up - however if I never have to use that much foundation again (for little miss Suzie Cain) I'll be a happy woman. :)
If there was a Sephora nearby, I'd probably be in there fairly regularly. I've heard good things about their products, but never tried them. I'll have my BM stuff with me in June, so if you don't check it out before then, you can play with mine some. :)
I don't wear make-up most days (and I don't think I'm hideous without it), but I have really annoying combination skin. I use a lot of blotting tissue throughout the day and try to keep the rest from flaking. Foundation makes me feel icky all day, and powder is usually a desperate attempt to make my natural face from feeling icky when I'm out of blotting tissues. I do wear lipstick about 40% of the time, and sometimes blusher, and even less, eyeshadow. But almost never powder or foundation. It's not worth it :P
I'd like to wear make-up regularly, though, just because it makes me feel neater and cuter. Clinique has so far been the one I like the most (I also use their 3-step facial care thing), but I may try the bareMinerals. It sounds wonderful :) I also live close to the Sephora that kistha does, although I've never ventured it. It's too bright and polished and fancy looking ;)

Which, really, is probably a good thing for my pocketbook.

Make-up is, indeed, very fun. :)
