oh, my knitting co-worker I mentioned says she is indeed on Ravelry and she'd be happy to exchange usernames with you. She also spins her own yarn.

Oh, cool! My user name is RhiannonJ, although I was thinking of changing it to something less likely to be identified with my fannish name. There's a particular local stitch 'n' bitch that I found out about via Ravelry that I want to check out at some point, but I might not want them eventually figuring out the connection. On the other hand, there are a million Rhiannons all over the internet. You can definitely give her my user name, though, since I may end up not changing it.

I never could get into knitting - I think because it is more difficult, and I like to crochet while I watch tv, so that amount of attention to detail just isn't in me. I can't wait until I get a yard so I can garden again. Maybe next year if I'm still here I'll get some patio boxes.

I think it depends on what you're doing. When I make socks without any fancy pattern-work, there are only a few times that I really have to pay attention (turning the heel, for instance) but a lot of it is just knitting in the round, which is very repetitive and soothing.

I still love to crochet, though. And I still have that second scarf to finish...

Patio boxes/container gardening is a lot of fun, and not nearly as much work as planting directly into the earth. I mean, it's still work, don't get me wrong, but it's much less strenuous, and there's almost no weeding to be done when you plant in containers. I don't know how big your patio is, but you can fit a lot more than you think.

Hee! It's a very cute show! And now I'm picturing your daughter getting all excited every Friday night in anticipation of watching Shawn and Gus be goofy and adorable while they solve the mystery.
