A Yarny Post

Well, I promised you a yarny post. Before I begin, however, I feel the need to share with you all that I am seriously coveting this swimsuit, and it's all Kasey Chandler's fault (she linked to another suit from this site on FB, and that started me browsing, and...well, it's all downhill from there.) And also a little bit innostrantsa's fault for linking to ( Read more... )

Wow, impressive! Especially the cat fur--does it hold together pretty well?

Yeah-- it has enough "grip" to want to stick to itself. (And the cat does mat from time to time, so...) What's on the spindle in the pic is as much as I've spun, though, so I don't know how it would be to knit with it. But it's N-plied, so it should hold up fine.

Wow, what a fabulous bathing suit! I can see why you covet it. But can you actually go swimming in velvet?

As for the socks, they do look a bit psychedelic, especially considering the weird light effects on the second picture. But still awesome, natch--trippy and cool! ;)

If it's a stretch velvet, I don't see why not.

Ye gods, I love that swimsuit. I'm lusting over the emerald one but they don't seem to have it in my size. Sad face!

Boo! I think the wine color and the polka dot ones are both super cute as well, but me, I want the velvet.

ETA: They do say on the website that the sizes run small (like vintage sizes), and there's a measurement chart-- so who knows, you might need a larger size up than normal.

omg, that alpaca silk! It is to die for! You've got mad skillz, my friend. I can't believe how that yarn knit up-- it's beautiful! Such amazing swirliness!

Also, I disavow any responsibility for bathing suit covetousness. It's not my fault! It's the company's fault for putting up stylish retro swimwear where others can see it. *nods with conviction!*
