In today's stack of cds to copy catalog, I came across a cd from 10 years ago called Dreamin', by The Veggies/Bulldozer Band! (The exclamation point is part of the band name, not an indicator of my enthusiasm about them or their album.) Wow...

I thought it was a local morning show at first, but then it got to the end and it appears to be they were on a local pbs kids show that played between the cartoons. And for some reason, that makes it ok. I'm totally cool having me kids see other kids get up and perform like this.

It's pretty clear the girl at least was getting some movement coaching from the sidelines as she was performing, but there still appears to be plenty of awkward flailing and head jerking going on that is most likely just part of who they are. Their opening had me thinking "cheesy Osmond wannabes."

I ran across their CD years ago when hosting the local music show on WFHB and had a similar reaction. The kids seemed so outgoing and all "gosh, gee!" that I had trouble buying it.

I wish I had been this outgoing as a kid. They seem to have zero self-consciousness.
