I haven't really told this to anyone else because it seemed selfish, to just make any conversation about me without asking the other person "how are you doing?"
Any true friend will understand your need for this kind of conversation and not be offended by you not asking about them or their life. It's called venting and well all need to do it from time to time. Selfish has a really bad name as a word. There is nothing wrong with thinking about and putting yourself first.
As someone who has Bipolar Disorder (Type Not Otherwise Specified), Anxiety issues and PTSD, I understand the struggles and the need to withdraw from the world, and the fear of being seen as a whiner. But just so you know, you have one person who will listen to anything you have to say. *hugs*
*hugs* V. happy that you sought treatment. And you're not being selfish. LJ is a place to vent for many (I find it helps with even the slightest woes (just don't do it when you're mildly drunk like I was a few days ago - makes for a very unintelligent rant))
Oh my precious friend...don't ever feel like you can't talk to your friends because we've all had times when we've just needed to talk about any and everything that's going through our minds and that we, ourselves, are going through. But I also realize, recognize, and acknowledge that, even though I *KNOW* that's true, I still don't want to feel like I'm burdening my friends with my whining
