Brushed straight back, like Trotsky. LOL..yes kind of. But a much nicer looking Trotsky.

I like the new name for your girl. I hope she turns to writing.

I have off today. It was for a day spring break of last year. I will have one furlough day in March...and that will be it. (I hope).

Thanks, Rachel. The Artist Formerly Known As may turn out to be a writer (I think she'd like to), but her math is really good, so I'm hoping she'll be inclined for the sciences.

I love Dr. Who. Wish there were more episodes to watch!!! I'll miss David Tennant...

Hi Shelly. The one constant about Doctor Who is that there will always be new episodes to watch. (And I think you must be limiting yourself to the new series in your comment. I'm willing to bet that you haven't seen all 25 years' worth of episodes from William Hartnell to Silvan McCoy...) ;)

I liked Eccleston better than Tenant, myself. More angsty.

Faux-photo from Star Trek: The Experience - you fanboy, you!

(It's probably like the one I've got ...)

You're into Dr. Who now? Interesting. While I quite enjoyed the show when I was a lad I just can't get into the the latest series; I just don't 'respect' the plots, which amble around all over the place and have no real rigid structure or 'science' to them, as far as I can see (granted, time travel's a tough science-fiction topic, but they don't really try to get it right IMO). It seems to me that a lot of the fandom momentum is comprised of fangirls squeeing over Tennant's charisma, which I wish I hadn't noticed through my LJ friends list, because now every time I watch a new episode all I can see is his posturing and over-the-top mannerisms layered over a flimsy plot.

BRING BACK JON PERTWEE, is what I say! (If only we could.) Dr. Who is like James Bond, you never forget your first.

I'm laughing at the titles - "The Ritual Artist" & "The Artist Formerly Known As" - but I don't quite know why?

Hi, Brad! The Ritual Artist is called that because, well, that's what she does. The Artist Formerly Known As recently declared that she changed her name, and for a while I was referring to her as "The Artist Formerly Known As [given name ( ... )

I guess I'm showing that I'm not much of a Dr. Who fan when I ask "what episode/story was 'Logopolis ( ... )

*grins* This reminds me that I've been meaning to get in touch with The Ritual Artist, but that I keep forgetting. Oops? When's her birthday?

And who do you want to say "Aw, c'mon, take a chance on that story! Please! Pleeeeeeeeeze…." to?

20 - it's amazing how dream jobs (or studies, in my case) can turn around and bite. Hope that won't be your experience. :-)

Thanks fo asking, Berte. Her birthday's tomorrow. ;)

The "Aw, c'mon" is addressed to fourteen or fifteen different fiction editors at various magazines.

I don't think there's much chance of my getting the dream job; can't afford it.

Hi

Remember that icon I gave you? The one with a crescent and star on it?

I was browsing around and wound up on a Russian site. (Don't ask me how) Anyway, I found the animated version of it. If you want, you can have it. Just credit magic_avatars I think it looks great.

Let me know if you want it, because I'll be deleting it after a while.
