And it was just yesterday that I had a loooong discussion with a friend about Star Trek, old and new, and their fandom. I have been waiting forever for my rl friends to finally pick up Star Trek. I have to show this to her. ^^ Thank you! ^_________^
Isn't it great? :-) They hit pretty much every Mary Sue characteristic right on the head...
Oh, you're a Trekkie? I first heard about slash at a Trekkie meeting! I sued to be one too, when I was younger - I still have several shelves full of novels. *g* I still haven't seen the last movie, though, because I'm afraid I will hate Captain Kirk. Maybe one of these days...
No, I’m a Trekker! XDDD (or whatever, I really don’t care, I just felt like saying that ^^) I actually haven’t read any of the novels, any you would recommend? My first introduction to slash was so far from Star Trek that for a long time I didn’t connect the two, didn’t slash anything in Star Trek (I know! Shocking, right?! XDDD). Could also be because I didn’t watch TOS until fairly recently (and still haven’t seen it all, shame on me). I had some issues with the new movie; I liked it, sorta, but still… There was something slightly off with the whole thing that didn’t ring truly Star Trek to me. But at least I don’t regret watching it
( ... )
Obnoxious but cute... an explosive mixture. :-) I love the comic, they are scarily accurate when it comes to a typical Mary Sue's attributes - and I *love* the ending. Of course the Curse of the Red Shirt would be the only way to counteract the Mary Sue Magic. :-))
