Lorelei's Insane Crossover Challenge

Apr 12, 2003 01:42

loreleif was incautious enough to issue an insane crossover challenge, and I've seized the moment to dust off a snippet of mad crossoverish strangeness that I've had on my harddrive for years. Not only is it an insane crossover; it's insanely obscure. But no-one said anything about that...

And so it came to pass, some time during the roaring 20s of the 5th century... )

crossover, crackfic, fanfic

*whee*

I am now in love with the idea of Nibelungenlied-fic.

I blame you.

(I liked it, but I've never read Parzival, so I can't *really* comment)

Glad you like it! :-)

And I accept the blame gladly. Always happy to spread the flame; I've been in love with the idea of Nibelungenlied-fic forever, myself. [I do still have some snippets of Highlander/Nibelungenlied crossover on my harddrive, but I won't inflict them on the unsuspecting world. :-)]

Oh wow!
That really is an interesting cross-over! Nibelungen-fic honestly never even occurred to me, though it is a pretty neat universe to play in, now that I think of it. And crossing over to Parzival - I'm still giggling. Thank you!

I'm glad you enjoyed the story! Yes, the Nibelungen-world is a *great* universe for fiction, and on top of that, it overlaps with so many other, related universes - I've been meaning to write something readable in it for years now.

Crossing it with "Parzival" does not qualify at all. :-)

Thank you for letting me know you liked it!

I'm always glad to see fanfic based on the classics, perhaps because it's a good bet that very few people will know what to make of it, and the rest will giggle wildly.

*giggling wildly and inappropriately* This is great!

But anyway. I know you have an unenthusiastic reaction to the Harry Potter oeuvre, but check out ajhalluk for some essays on how the text and subtext of the books can be read, going past the obvious first-level presentation of everything being good-bad, black-white for children.

Somewhat back in fandom now, and glad to be here,
Stranger
