ALL THE FUCKING TIME. (Actually it's more common for all my characters to crossover into other original works. I've given up and declared them all in the same universe)
*g* I know so many authors who do this - and I absolutely understand the reluctance to let go of beloved characters. I don't think I've ever done this kind of crossover myself, though, probably because my characters wouldn't fit well into the other fictional worlds, and/or would despise each other, and/or would not have a reason to come into contact at all.
Yes! It just - happened. One minute I was thinking "well, this would be the absolutely obvious AU", and then I was like "hm, but how exactly would one approach this and how could it work", and then... yeah.

A friend just started rping in the universe of her unfinished YA novel.
I understand the impulse! But how can other people RP with her - did she write a primer?

But writing it down? I'm just feeling a little guilty because the actual story isn't even finished yet, so I should be working on that.
Oh well, the AU isn't very long, anyway. Fortunately I did have that much self-control. ;-)
