Making pelmeni with my beautiful new pelmeniza tonight. Yay for ingenious Russian kitchen implements!

Anyone interested in a photo documentary? ;-)

It is my firm belief that every culture in the world has some kind of filled noodle dish. And Russians are right out in front of the pack with the Germans, the Polish and the Chinese! :-)

:-) I know how that feels!

I just finished cooking the first batch, and the pelmeniza worked like a charm. I took pics, too, so the documentary will be coming soon. *g*

Oh man I love pelmeni. My Mum is Kyrgyz so she occasionally makes them and just. So delicious.

Mmmmmm... lucky you! I've actually never had pelmeni before, but I have never met a filled noodle that I didn't like. :-) (Okay, except for that one steamed shrimp-filled one, but that was because I don't like shrimp.)

Mine turned out very well, considering that I improvised the filling. I'm more or less vegetarian these days, so I went with spinach and cottage cheese instead of meat. *g*
