Just came back from this amazing place. It's hard to describe, but it's beautiful. Big. And beautiful. Pics weren't allowed inside, but just imagine the most expensive, lovely, turn of the century place you can, and then tell yourself that the whole house and grounds are currently worth nearly three million dollars. Cool! I've always wanted to see it- visited a lot of the "cottages" in Newport, but I hear some amazing things about Biltmore. Jealous :)

Now that I've had a bit to digest it all, I can say that my favorite parts were 1) the library, and 2) the fact that the conservators repair the antiques with the same Butvar chemical as glue that we use on our fossils in Gray. That was totally awesome to learn.
