Oh. My. Gawd.

Stand For Christmas dot Com. Why? Why?!? For one freakin' month of the year, can't everyone just be happy for once and have a Happy Holiday, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, New Years, WHATEVER!

I'm blaming this on Bill O'Reilly and his 'War on ChristmasMe... I'm going to go read something more intellectual about customers and stores ( Read more... )

oy vey, holidays, christmas

Yeah, thats where I heard about the site today and I'm just... I'm at a lost for words. Except for "WHY?!?". I have that word down pretty good.

You know what really bothered me about this whole 'War on Christmas' thing? It never bothered me when people wished me a Marry Christmas, I always took it for what it was: a genuine well wishing from someone with a different belief system then my own. Now those motivations are in question as it has become a political statement and I can no longer take it at face value.

Yes, let's make holidays into political statements! Screw over good will, we want moral outrage! *sighs* Moral outrage shouldn't be what the holidays are about.

It just pains me that Christmas went from a fun, happy-go-lucky let's-have-a-great-vacation and spending time with friends & family to just PARTY.... to money-grubbing stores doing whatever they can to take your money earlier and earlier in the year... and everyone having to be politically correct in how they wish a happy holiday season ( ... )

Yeah, I'm with you on that. Christmas was FUN, and the more Christmas snuck towards Thanksgiving, the more I felt meh about the holiday season in general.

But anyways, if you're going to celebrate, celebrate it the best you can in this economic situation... like the house on the right. This picture made me smile so bad, it hurt.

So yes, more celebrating, less... dealing with the stupid stuff that crops up during the holiday, and get back to being good to everyone and all that jazz.
