Babe, if they think there's a PTSD/psychosomatic element involved (and goodness knows the brain is powerful weird sometimes!), perhaps it's a matter of finding the right mental approach?
Without wanting to overstep a boundary, I know that although you manage it ridiculously well, you are prone to anxiety anyway. It makes sense on a somatic level that this stress/anxiety could manifest in the gastrointestinal area, as this is one of the first areas of the body that experiences reduced blood circulation when an adrenaline rush hits (i.e. it's not exactly crucial to digest your lunch when something is trying to digest youI certainly wouldn't discount a medical approach, but I'm starting a course in Anusara yoga to deal with my chronic joint pain, because the doctors/physios/naturopaths/rheumatologists haven't been able to come up with anything. Plus, I've noticed that when I'm stressed (like now!) my pain is much worse and appears in new areas
