Ragam is definitely still open - I walk past it on the way home from work every day and it smells wonderful! I must go back soon actually, mmmmm lovely dosas.
Thanks - have updated my datafile and the test site.
I haven't tried Golden Orient, no, but will add it to my to-try list! And will let you know when I plan to visit it. I did a bit of Googling and found your review - the promise of goat curry may be enough to tempt rjw1 along too.
Happy to help! Since that review (in 2004) they have relaunched as the NEW Golden Orient and have a new menu but it's still all Bangladeshi and very good. No more quail jalfrezi, but lots of tasty things including some veggie curries. If you have any special requirements - you fancy something different - just ask. When I go there with my neighbour she always asks if they have fresh scallops and eats that or a fish dish every time. But I love the veggies and my husband is working his way through everything. If you're ever in the area I'd be delighted to join you there.

Have you ever tried Golden Orient, Leytonstone High Road? It's my local and very good.
