Well she has a name now, Shadow. Because she has attached herself to me and everywhere I go, she goes. We have a friend who is a vet, she gave Shadow a quick exam pour gratis and informed us that the cat is around a year old give or take a month or two, and  ... we are going to be adding another one or maybe two or three in about four or five weeks ( Read more... )

So if you don't treat your diabetes, they'll let you work (sort of) but if you treat it, they penalize you?

And of course we don't qualify for any state medical coverage because K is working. They (the government) expect us to pay our rent and utilities and have enough money to get groceries for a family of four *AND* pay medical bills on a salalry of 7.50 an hour. We would be doing better if I was working of course but that brings back to the original point.

To be fair, I think the concern is that the driver might go into shock from lack of insulin while driving a bunch of people, which would be bad. Kind of like how they take your driver's license away for six months if you have a seizure. It isn't fair, but there are safety reasons for it.

Okay. Fine. I understand the fear behind it.

But this is like saying an epileptic can only drive if they are NOT on meds that control their seizures.

IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE to punish someone who is TREATING their disease.
