Sky High

We went to see Sky High today. Not only was it fun, but it seemed to be aimed at thirtysomethings at least as much as kids. This means I'm squarely in the age group that's assumed to have kids old enough to be going to movies. Besides feeling a bit John Hughes-ish, and having a lot of in-jokes in the adult cast, the soundtrack was entirely ( Read more... )

That is good news. I really want to see that, purely because Bruce Campbell is in it.

Tom is really excited about going to see this. I'm glad that it sounds pretty good, so I won't have to sit there bored and/or annoyed the whole time. I still haven't seen Grosse Point Blank. That's one of those ones that I always mean to see, but never get around to.

Sky High is wonderful, much better than The Incredibles. Imagine the Junior Superfriends doing Breakfast Club. It works beautifully.

And you know how I hate gratutous violence? There was a scene in which it was threatened, and then Will said, "Nah, just kidding." For once a movie addressed someone with my sensibilities. It was so cool.
