For the lunar base, I wondered why they would go with nitrogen for fire suppression, since it only has a thermal capacity of 1.04 J/kgK, while helium is five times as great.

After checking, I realized that's better than any non-flammable and non-radioactive material that is a gas at room temperature, except for helium. And helium has such a low density, you'd not be able to fit any oxygen in the habitat if you put in enough helium to get the same fire dampening properties as nitrogen.
