Pearl, our longtime companion cat, passed away on February 14, 2011. She will be sorely missed - she already is. Walking in the house every day, I was greeted by her on the chair or the couch with usually a plaintive MEOW, which meant, BRING ME FOOD ( Read more... )

Steve; Thank you for sharing the story of Pearl here, and for the chance to get to know and love her over the past couple of years. I was very flattered and happy that she welcomed me into your home, just as you and Peter did.

"She really didn't like to be held ... until she knew you a little hetter."

Pearl was a smart gal. Her affection wasn't an act. I appreciated that.

THank you, Mort. I grew up with pets all my life, but this is the first time I have had to do this. These creatures do affect our lives every day.
