Our cat Pearl threw us for a loop this morning. She wasn't eating, and she had messed on the couch, and the floor and around the whole living room through the night. So, Peter took her to the vet, and it was my job to pick her up

what a sweetheart. i'm sure she's lived a full life and was always loved and cared for. May she pass peacefully when the time comes. *hugz*

Thanks guys - I should probably explain what happened LAST Christmas, 2009. We were certain Pearl was going to pass away on or around Christmas Day. She wasn't eating AT ALL... we had been trying to feed her her regular canned cat food but she rejected it... and just drank water. A LOT of water. Eventually, she slowed down, and we thought this was it... a friend of mine, Dale, said the same thing happened to his cat, and to make her last couple of days nicer, they gave her baby food. So we thought we do the same thing for Pearl... and WHADDYA know... Pearl gobbled up the baby food for three days straight... she was voracious... and her senses all came back. It was like having a new cat. So, here we are, a year later, and we still have Pearl. The doctor called and said the test results showed her thyroidism was acting up. So we have to up her medication. Also, she has a urinary tract infection - she'll get a shot for that on Monday. She's eating now. Yes, the baby food. Peter keeps trying different foods but she keeps going

Thank you for this. Sadly, she didn't make it past Monday. I believe she knew it was her time to go... and I believe she let me know that as I held her in my arms.

It still tears me up.
