I am really sorry. I am familiar with this... unless I'm missing something in your medical history, my experience is that when I get really anxious, at some point the emotional anxiety switches off in my brain and my body goes into fight or flight mode, and then I throw up all the time and cannot relax at any point, not even to sleep.
a doctor once prescribed xanax for this which was amazingly helpful in breaking the cycle. I would only take it for a few days and it would be enough to "jump start" my system. even though I get that when you're feeling like this it's like the least desirable idea to go to a doctor.
Yeah, I had insomnia for anxiety reasons last year.
That hasn't happened in quite some time.
Right now I'm dealing with physical aches and pains and nausea (still not sure what exactly is going on - been seeing specialists) that is keeping me up. So it's not psychosomatic like the anxiety was.
Not sure which is worse. Flight and flight mode (had major anxiety attacks during that time) = hard to control and all in the head. My doctor prescribed me ativan for it, which I became addicted to, big mess. Glad that is over.
