linguistics vs. SRA

what... the fuck? why and how do you explain SOUNDS? just make the damn sound. nobody had to explain the japanese "r" to me, i just imitated it.

(although, for the record, it seems like "wh" is a slightly more relaxed sound than "w"... my lips feel more pursed when i'm saying "w" instead of "wh")

I never said that it was great. They KNEW the sounds, but if they make any mistake, I have to correct them. It's bullshit.

For me, "wh" and "w" are the same. But I remember when I lived in Texas, the natives pronounced "wh" as "hw"

white window = "HWaht weandow" ;)

The person that commented above is from Texas, so I guess there is a difference. You're in Virginia, right? Because "w" and "wh" are the same for me, too.
